Our response to COVID-19

Dear customer,

We hope this message finds you well.

In light of the uncertainty facing many of us during the global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we want to explain how Lawnkeeper plans to work for the next few weeks and months.

Firstly, the safety of our customers and technicians is our top priority. We are paying close attention to the government’s daily briefings and will follow the latest official guidance at all times.

We know that many of you have already made a significant investment in your lawn this year. Based on current guidance, we see no reason for your treatment schedule to be disrupted. We just need garden access to carry out your lawn care treatment and can maintain a safe distance at all times.

We’re working in the open air so the risk of virus transmission is already very low, but there are a number of steps we’re proactively taking to keep everyone safe:

  • We’re sending all invoices by email rather than post, and we request that customers pay by bank transfer rather than cash or cheque.
  • We’re asking self-isolating customers to let us know prior to our visit, and to leave us access to the lawn so that we can proceed safely on the day.
  • We carry commercial-grade personal protective equipment on board all our vans (this is a requirement for the safe handling and application of certain pesticides). If you would feel more comfortable with us donning protective equipment while we work on your lawn, please ask.
  • If anyone in your household is in an at-risk group (immunocompromised, over the age of 60 or with pre-existing health conditions), please let us know.
  • It’s extremely unlikely that the virus can survive in fresh air, but until we know more, we’re asking all customers to avoid stepping out on their lawn for 60 minutes prior to our arrival, then to stay indoors for 60 minutes after we leave. This is double the recommended time limit of 30 minutes.
  • If your home has no direct outside access to the garden, please get in touch with us as we may need to reschedule your appointment.

The latest news reports suggest that we may be dealing with this outbreak for three months or more. We’ll continue to review the situation and do whatever we can to maintain our high standards of service without compromising on safety.

If you have any concerns, we want to hear from you. Please get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to answer your questions.

In the meantime, we wish you, your friends and family the very best.

Kind regards,

Sam Langrick
